Cheers,

Rob,
Hope all went well on Saturday with MIMS.
Here is the update on the LOST swim June 12, 2010.
There were 8 swimmers and 1 dog Saturday despite the weather forecast of possible thunderstorms. There were the
experienced Steve, Bill, Melanie and myself and the newbies: Andrew U and Stacey have done triathlons in the past, and
for Jason S, Lynn and Molson it was the first time out with LOST.
The weather was overcast and in Robspeak there was a gentle warm breeze coming in off the lake (it was a cold harsh
wind), the water was a little wavy (there were 2-4 feet waves), and there was a dusting of seaweed at the shoreline (you
walked on 6 inches of wet gooey seaweed that had been blown on shore). However the water was a very nice 66-67
degrees(it really was).
Molson, my golden retriever helped to see us off after eating (partially) Bill’s bathing cap. All of us braved the
waves, heck Rob was probably swimming in worse, and pushed off with some trepidation. After figuring out which side to
breathe on (the side without the waves crashing into us), and how to sight (stop and do breast stroke worked the best)
we set off. Most did about 20 minutes out, Steve and Stacey kept going for about 25 minutes before turning around and
coming back.
On the way back we had Rob’s gentle breeze (harsh wind) behind us and made excellent progress, the wind was starting to
settle a bit as we came to shore. Molson, Jenn and baby Andrew came to see us arrive. Despite the seaweed most stayed in
the water to play in the waves (it really was 66-67 degrees) especially Molson.
Once we all made it back we went to the usual coffee spot for breakfast, coffee and good conversation.
All in all it was a nice swim. See you all next week.
