Madhu’s training swim… 4 1/2 hours in 55F water! But the hard work is all done… just one more big swim to go!

So Madhu is looking to be the first of the 7 LOSTies attempting to swim across Lake O this summer!  He’ll be going on the first weather window starting July 25!  As a bit of fun to involve everyone (and help him defray some of the costs) we have set up a pool where you can bet on his arrival time!  Should be fun!  (see the details below).

Cheers,

Rob

Madhu in final few days of preparation for Lake Ontario swim!

BMSC and LOST member, Madhu Nagaraja is into his final week of preparation for his Cross-\Lake Swim. He will be stepping into the water in Port Dalhousie at the first weather window after July 25th and will swim to Coronation Park, Oakville, the same route that Melanie Price took last year.

His support crew on the lake will include Dave Richards, Bill Johnson, Alex McMillan, John Strang, Jenn Strang, Petra Haneberry, and Suzanne Ruginis. Dan Ruginis and Jackie Adams will be support crew on land.

… a much more relaxed look… after a tough swim!

In the past week, we were forced to make the unanticipated  and expensive decision to charter a support boat and zodiac to give Madhu the best chance for a successful and safe swim. This comes at considerable expense above and beyond what he had expected when setting out on his venture.

As a result, Madhu’s swim team will be offering to BMSC members the opportunity to support him in his swim by guessing the official time it takes him to complete his crossing.

You can submit your “guess” or “guesses” by emailing [email protected] You can submit one guess for $10 or 3 guesses for $20. (Of course, we suggest the 3 guess option!) The winner will get a yet to be determined prize valued at up to $150. You can pay for your guess either at the L.O.S.T Saturday swim or before BMSC swims on Tuesday or Thursday evenings between 7:00 and 7:15. Payment must be received before the start of Madhu’s swim to be eligible. Let’s all get behind Madhu so that he can concentrate on the work that matters…getting across the lake.
Remember to include Hours, Minutes and Seconds in your guesses. Eg: 10hrs, 28 min, 13 sec.

Cheers,

Dave Richards
