So on Mother’s Day I didn’t feel right about skipping out for the whole morning (and by “didn’t feel right”, I mean, I would have been found floating face down in the lake if I had!) and going for a swim at Gullivers… so I went for a dip in our pool!
I opened the pool a couple of weeks ago, remember… when it was unusually nice. It was unusually cold yesterday when I decided I needed to do a little cold water acclimatization in the back yard. The air temp was 6C / 43F… and the water was 12C / 54F… cold no matter where you are!
It seemed to take me forever to get into the pool… but I finally did. I was trying out my new surgical tubing teather. Essentially a rubber band tied at one end to the deck… and the other end to a belt around my waist. Surprisingly it worked quite well. As the water was so cold I had to sprint. I sprinted for about 10 minutes and was spent. The good news is that I wasn’t really all that cold at all. I took the belt off and swam around in the pool, put the vaccum in, got in and out a few times… and was fine.
Then I got in the hot tub for a half an hour. Hey, I may be crazy… but I’m not stupid!
Cheers,
Rob
